What is Eurhythmics?

It is Musical Education through movement, and movement education through music; this double approach being the consequence of the natural affinity between musical movement and physical motion.

What is its goal?

Its goal is to harmonise the whole person by establishing contact between the body and the mind through music.

Where can one learn this profession, and what are the entry requirements?

This differs in each country: in Academies, Conservatoriums, “Hautes Ecoles”, Universities, Institutes of Eurhythmics. Entry requirements vary in each country. In general, candidates must have achieved a level of education equivalent to the Maturité or baccalauréat (in French speaking countries); that is, the final year of secondary or high school before University in English speaking countries. Candidates must be 18 years old and must have musical, instrumental competence equal to at least 6/7 years of regular tuition. Most schools demand the piano as first instrument or competent piano skills.

Can one practise Eurythmics at any age?

Yes - from 3 years of age to 108 years of age!

Are there courses or stages where I could become familiar with or learn Eurhythmics?

Eurhythmics, Jaques-Dalcroze Eurhythmics - are they the same thing?
